Carnguwch, organic farm's lake is a two acre fly fishing water stocked with rainbow trout, open all year. Fishing is free for Organig Parc guests - bring your own licensed rod and tackle and enjoy a good sport during your holiday. Day tickets are also available for non-residents, the number of anglers is strictly limited and guests have priority booking rights. The perfect place to relax and enjoy fishing in a beautiful environment.

The lake was formed in 1999 and the margins were planted with a variety of shrubs and trees that are maturing as part of the very pleasant waterside environment. Water from the farm's own mountainside spring runs as a mill stream through the cottage gardens before cascading in to the lake from a wooden water-chute. It is very clean and clear and the minerals help to support a variety of life-forms in the lake, which in turn provide food for the fish. The nutrients from the lake's eco-system is not supplemented, so the fish are as natural - and consequently wonderful tasting - as can be.

The fishery rules allow for two sorts of fly fishing - "catch and release" and "catch and keep". "Catch and release" is sometimes also known as "sporting" fishing and here the pleasure comes from the skill of catching the fish ? which need a bit of luring ? before releasing them again. Barbless or de-barbed hooks that do minimal harm are usually used, and the fish are handled as little as possible to avoid damage and stress before returning them to the water. On the other hand, "catch and keep" is where the fish are kept after catching, up to a specified daily "bag limit"
A fisherman's lakeside hut with seating and facilities for making hot drinks is also a quite place to simply observe the wild life on and around the lake.
So, whether you are a serious fly-fisherman with many exotic flies in your bag, or simply a beginner who would like to try and master the fundamentals of this skilful form of fishing, Carnguwch lake is a great place to fish.
